Mission Statement

Our program, which began in late 2012, teaches sewing and quilting classes to underserved and marginalized women area of South Bend, Indiana. Our mission is to provide a positive “hands on” program for women to learn and practice a variety of life-enhancing skills, such as perseverance, patience and problem solving. Our program gives women the opportunity through quilting to explore personal creativity and to give back to the community. This program is nurturing each woman’s self-confidence and self-esteem by enhancing their success at living productively in their community, encouraging them to take their next step toward a full and meaningful life, adding valuable life skills, and helping each person discover their worth to God and the community.  We desire each participant to be a part of developing a vibrant, safe and strong community with strong families.

As we have grown our programs have expanded include Industrial Sewing Training for both men and women who have shown a growing skill set in our basic classes. Contact us for more information.
